Just changed my oil this morning. Says to lubricate the front drive shaft (4x4) and change the fuel filter.

Never done this before, so can someone advise?

Is the fuel filter located in the fuel tank, or is it inline?

Also, do I need a grease gun to lube the front driveshaft? And what type of grease?

It is royal PITA to find, jack up front, jack stands on frame so tires off ground, in 2w or n, grab drive shaft spin by hand, look in u joint at 45degree angle will be towards the front of truck , keep spinning till u find will be awhile, after you grease first time easy to see where grease blob is, u will also need a grease needle made for this bout 6" long longer the better. Let me see if can get picture.

mine must be turned to spot that can't see. Will be on the tc side not the front by diff like I said. google it. I asked the tech at shop last time he pointed it out while on rack. I give mine a shot or 2 every 3000

on 4th gens 1500's i dont think there is any thing to lube up front. I bet the fuel filter is in tank and i'm sure theres nothing that needs to be done to it. I have never replaced one on a vehicle yet in a long time.

Yeah I'm an idiot.... I was reading the diesel one. Dur...du...duuuurrr!

Thanks Eric and Matt!

Ltr450rider13: thanks Dude, I think I'll give mine some lube up front, couldn't hurt. Only used the 4x4 once, and that was in some severe rain.

This is on my fender. 2500 or not, drive shaft is drive shaft. I would think yours has a fitting also.
