So it has come to my attention that 2012 lug nuts are not the same as previous years of the ram. Have every thing torn apart and think I may have damaged my bolts. Anyone know the thread difference?

If you messed up a lug stud, just hammer it out and zip a new one in

Finally found out the answer by going through my owners manual and doing some searching of the web. Althoug most sites say 2002 to present for the Ram 1500 thread pattern, it looks like the 2012, or at least my 2012 is different.

From what I read. 2002 to 2011 Ram 1500s used a 9/16 x 18 thread. My 2012 used M14 x 1.5 thread. At least I know what to look for now.

I wonder if it has to do with build location? US vs wherever else(forget if it's canada or mexico)?

I ran into a similar situation when I traded wheels with a 2012. They are for sure different but I don't know what each one is.

I guess Chrysler is trying to come to grips with the modern world, and how much more awesome SI units are lol. Or maybe their engineers forced them.
