So I got a check engine light yesterday and this code is what came up. After a while the light went away on its own. I did some research and came up with several possibilities but I wasn't experiencing any of the symptoms listed as normal with the code (lower power, lower mpg, spark knock, and no additional codes). Anyone seen this code set and then disappear on its own? Any thoughts on what it might be? I'm thinking maybe bank 1 O2 sensor going bad but not sure. Since the light is gone, I'm not going to take it in yet. Are O2 sensors covered under 100k powertrain or 36k bumper to bumper? I've got < 3k left on the 36k warranty so maybe I should drop it off to establish a history of the problem so if it craps on me at 36500 warranty will still take care of it.

That's interesting. It's not a hard code or the light would have not gone out. If you take it in and they can't find anything they may bill you for diagnostic time.

If it's running ok, I'd clear it and see if it comes back on. You should call the dealer to check, but as the O2 is an engine component, it should fall under the power train warranty. Good luck

Hi gustheram,

If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to follow up with them for you if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know!
