I have a 2012 ram 2500 with the 5.7 hemi. My manual says rear diff is a limited slip but does not require an additive. Why is this?

The Ram doesn't use a "real" limited slip. They use independent braking of the wheel that is slipping, rather than clutches in the rear diff.

What style posi do the new 2017s have? My truck has the anti spin diff, but i don't know much about it. Thanks
Google Gleason Differential, you will get the answer you need.
Oops, my apologies. The 2500's use braking, I thought the 1500's did as well.Better do some more research, the limited slip in the 1500's is a clutch style posi/limited slip. You're thinking of traction control, which is differant from what a limited slip does.

If you have a 1500, you have the ZF rear end and the limited-slip differentials have clutch packs behind the side gears inside the diff. What style posi do the new 2017s have? My truck has the anti spin diff, but i don't know much about it. Thanks
