Recalls & Extended Warranty Offer

Today I got the 3 ea most recent Recall notices in the mail , ironically I also received an offer from RAM for extended warranty protection offer LOL !
I know recalls are free but my Q is SHOULD I GO AHEAD AND PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY?
I have 24 k on my truck , I've had no problems I typically do all my own maint , repairs and mods . I'm a mechanic myself & pretty well versed in all types of vehicle maint and repair .

I've had VERY VERY BAD and Excellent service at my Dealership ??

What's everyone's thoughts on the EXTENDED WARRANTY on our RAM 1500s . Mine is a 4x4 QC 2014 5.7L .

All depends on how long you plan on keeping your truck. If you're the type that keeps vehicles for over 5 years than it might be a good idea (also shop around for aftermarket plans might get a better price) or if you're like me that plans keeping each truck but right around 2 years trades it in then hold off until you approach the 4 year mark then start looking

I also keep my vehicles quite a while and do my own maintenance. I got the lifetime powertrain warranty for $2400.00 + tax. I think it's a good deal in my case since my last truck was 12 years old and had 290,000 miles when I traded it. I am keeping every receipt so I have proof that I did the required maintenance. There's no sense in giving them an excuse down the road.

my warranty is good until 2022. If I trade the vehicle in before the basic warranty (always) I just have them put the new warranty on the new vehicle. One day I will keep a toy more than 12-18 months or 15-20,000 miles.

Look into Ziegler Dodge in Schaumburg IL for Lifetime Maxcare. They sell at a volume discount and its like $2600. Call them if you can and check out their website.

I just checked...$200 deductible for $2385 for unlimited miles/years...no brainer if you are keeping truck as you say you are.

I dont understand something, the engine and drivetrain has 100K or 5 years right? Does the extended warranty extend the bumper to bumper to something?
I got an email also, informing me to get the mopar care warranty, its only available to me until I get to 12K miles or else it wont be offered anymore.

They told me it is bumper to bumper, but ask them yourself to be sure (obviously) and wanted like $3400. Ziegler sells em for $2400 though.

Check out chryslerfactoryplans.com you can enter in your info and it gives you instant pricing and yes you have until 36000 miles to buy it. If you buy it before 12000 miles it is $100 cheaper.

Same product. On Ziegler website, check out their FAQ, they say they sell to a national market and have volume pricing.

If your keeping the vehicle that long its cheap, but not so cheap insurance. Just all depends on what is covered and how they word the exclusions. If you plan to keep the vehicle long past the factory warranty then I would. Look at it this was if you keep it for 15 years, and the extended costs you 3k for those 5 years that is basically $600 a year / $50 a month in costs for major repairs. covered under that warranty. That is alot less than some potential cost for major repairs
