Do I need to bring it in to reset the TPMS light? It's been super cold here and my light came on the other day. The message screen shows they are all the same pressure (approx 33psi in all) but one is blinking. Every other vehicle I've owned with TPMS I'd simply just fill the tires and drive it. Within a few miles the light would turn off. This doesn't seem to be the way for this truck.

If it's too cold tpms just doesn't work properly. Wait till it warms up a bit and it'll clear

I had to fill mine to the recommended pressure of 39psi and drive a bit to get it to turn off. I let them back down to 35 psi after it reset. Hasn't come back on.

Yeah I had to fill the tires up for the light to turn off. My dash showed all the tires at about 32/33psi which I didn't think was too bad. I bumped up to about 35/36 in all. The past week it's been subzero temp which plays havoc on the sensors but when it warmed up to seasonal temperature the light stayed on even though the dash showed them all above 32.

Ditto what everyone else said regarding the temperatures. Even on other cars it can affect the TPMS. Has done the same thing on a couple other cars I've owned that are brands that shall not be named.

Once it warms up the light should go off.

Just put new rims on my Ram and found to get the TPM's to reset properly you have to inflate to at least 39 psi then drive for 20 min over 15 mph. Had three at 39 and one at 38 and it stayed on till I got it to 39+ psi. After they turn off them you can set to what you want. But I think the window for them to turn back on is close to 5 psi but the system will actually take the temp into count before warning.

I just put 2016 Ram Rebel wheels and tires on my 2011 SLT and have the service TPMS on. The old OEM wheels and tires required 40 psi. The Rebel wheels with Toyo tires states 54 psi. Is this the reason for the light? Is it reprogramable?

You would get a warning only if the pressure is to low, not too high.

I dunno, but are the sensor frequency the same on 2011 trucks as 2016?

You may get a TPMS light when swapping wheels until you drive a few minutes, say 20 minutes.

Dunno about 2011, but the newer trucks have a menu to set low pressure warning point buried somewhere.
