I added aftermarket remote start (DBALL) and I need to install a hood ajar switch for safety. I don't really see an easy place to add one though. It looks like the gap between most of the hood and fenders is pretty wide.

I see the 2010 and up uses a switch that is integrated into the hood latch. I actually like that idea since it looks nice and clean, but I'm not sure if I can adapt one of those switches to work with aftermarket. Don't know if that switch is a ground while hood open type or not.

Any suggestions?

I didn't put mine on when I added my remote start / alarm.

I considered going without it, but it really coud be a safety issue if someone has their hands in there. Or if I was in the middle of an oil change or something.

I keep thinking back to when I had an alarm system in another car and while in a parking lot, I triggered another cars doors and alarm with my remote. Really small chance of something going wrong, but still.

Dei(makers of viper alarms) sells a tilt activated switch that attaches to underside of the hood. the part # is 8723 Much better in my opinon. the pin switched usually rust out and have issues shortly there after
