I have an 03 4.7 ram. I have bought THREE belt tensioners from napa and they keep going bad.

All 3 times they were put on by different shops. This last time has lasted longer than most.. now i'm back to the squealing and shaky tensioner..

has anyone else had this issue? should I spend the extra money on the mopar part?

out of ideas here

Is it out of alignment somehow?

Have you compared the replacement part with the original? Maybe its missing shims or washers putting out of alignment and putting strain on the pulley and generating a premature failure.

Here is the parts schematics for your truck setup from the Service Manual.

I might consider returning the part and try a salvage yard replacement. Most salvage yards guaranty their parts and you would have the OEM piece that may not fail as badly as the reman part.

Hope this helps.
