Hi everibody, greetings from Rome, Italy!!

It's time for a complete service on my truck.
I've done some search but I cannot find what I'm looking for...

I've got a 2004 5.7 doublecab automatic with 545 gearbox on it. I'm gonna make some fluids change, so here are my questions:

1) what kind of transfer case do I have? And what oil type it needs??

2) my front ad rear diffs are limited slip?? Anyway what oil do I have to use for a complete replacement? Do I need any additive?

Thanks in advance to everibody!!

Sorry, I can't help you. I don't want to hijack the thread, but, I was in Rome during October. It was my first visit there and loved it. My wife & I toured Italy for 11 days, starting in Rome (3 days), Sienna (2 days), Florence (2 days), Venice (2 days), and Milan (2 days)! Rome was my favorite city, followed by Sienna & Florence. We can't wait to go back and visit again. I want to see southern Italy next time we are there.

Anyway, I'm surprised to see a Ram truck over there. I can't imagine driving that around Rome with all of the Fiats and scooters and narrow streets!! We rented a car after we left Rome and drove through the countryside and mountains. That was enough for me! HAHA. :)

The owners manual should tell you everything you need about what type of fluid and quantity. You only have a limited slip in the rear, which does require modifier.

@EagleChief: you won't believe how funny is to drive trough the streets of Rome with the big RAM! People look at you as you were riding a t-rex!! [emoji1]

Anyway, on the net I've found a copy of the owner's manual, so finally I've got what I need.

Thanks to all!! [emoji106]

Benvenuto, Signore!
My grandparents emigrated here from Corinaldo, Ancona.
Glad you were able to get the information you needed. Are you using Agip?

I can't even see a Fiat when I park the big RAM.
Everytime I'm afraid to hit some little 500's... [emoji1]

If you mean "Agip" as the petrol company, yes, I use it an even other companies.
But I usually run on LPG as here in Italy one liter of unleaded goes from 1,45 to 1,70 euros! [emoji37]

Congrats on finding the info - and on having figured out how to park a Ram in Rome!

Rome is my favorite city in the world. Period. Been there a few times and each time I returned I thought nah, can't be as good as last time (again) and yet it never disappoints.

Cheers~

Hi guys...
Today I was under the truck and I've noticed a little yellow light right over the rear diff. It's at the end of a cable and point to the flange of the cardan joint... Never seen before! Its stay on for about 5/10 ten minutes after the engine is off... Here is a picture:

Thank you all!!

I've been looking at pics online all day and I can't find anything that looks like it. There's a rear wheel speed sensor on the top of the rear differential. There's also a rear output sensor but that should be up on the transmission. Is that flange between the rear diff and the drive shaft? Maybe someone else will recognize it.

My guess is that is pulse sensor of some kind. Not original equipment, possibly related to the LPG kit? Maybe you can follow the wires back and see what they attach to?
