New here but not to the ram world. I have a 2002 with a 4.7. The ac compressor is sticking. I'm wondering if a shorter belt would work or will I have to get the dummy pulley to go I'm place of the compressor

You could probably find a used compressor at a junk yard. If not, a dummy pulley would probably be easier.

Those compressors are not that expensive, you can get one brand new on e-bay for less than $120. If you are handy with machines or work in a machine shop the bearing is about 30 bucks and you could replace it. Don't go that route if you don't have access to tools, a press, and have little machine skills :)

Don't just take it off and use a smaller belt. Doing this will cut the contact area on the water pump/fan pulley in half which can cause a lot of slipping. Either use an Ac bypass pulley or put another compressor on there, whether you keep the Ac functional or not.
