After some digging I found enough non conflicting info to tell what 4.7 is compatible with what truck.
If I find a 2002 4.7 it doesn't mean it will work in my 2002 ram 1500.

I have determined the best route would be to find a running motor in a wrecked vehicle and simply look at the PCM to see if it has 3 plugs going in to it or 4 plugs. It is after midnight here and I probably are not going out to the driveway to look on the passenger side firewall under the hood to see if mine is a JTEC which most evidence is pointing toward.

JTEC cam target wheel has only one "timing window" near the unpainted "L" timing mark. JTEC crankshaft reluctor wheel has 16 teeth.
3 plug PCM

USUALLY
Dodge Dakota Truck 2000-2001
Dodge Durango 2000-2002
Ram 1500 Truck 2002
Jeep Cherokee 1999-2004

NGC cam target wheel has three "timing windows" near the unpainted "L" timing mark. NGC cam timing wheel is stamped with the letters "NGC". NGC crankshaft reluctor wheel has 31 narrow teeth & 1 wide tooth.
4 plug PCM

USUALLY
Dodge Dakota 2002-2007
Dodge Durango 2003-2007
Ram 1500 Truck 2003-2007
Jeep Cherokee 2005-2006

IF you have the talent to pull the crank you can get aftermarket 16 tooth reluctor kits that come with the cam ring and even an EGR blockoff plate so you can put a much later model 4.7 in an early vehicle.

Do you know if the crankshaft sensor is different from jtec to ngc because the stealership only shows one sensor and it covers 02-13 rams with 4.7 i would think the jtec would require a different sensor
