First off there a lot of work to make a 2016 grill fit a 3rd gen.

1 - disassemble the whole grill
2 - you will not need the back piece that has the mounting brackets to the truck.
3 - you will need to cut or sand down the grill shell to fit the truck.
4 - then you will need to cut the grill back - that bolts to the shell.

& that's not all.

Pic of grill before mods.

Next is to take the grill shell & start cutting/sanding (which ever way you want to)

Cut & sanded - still needs a little more.

On the back side you will need to cut out some of the bolt points where the grill shell mounts to the grill back.

Hey there, just wondering if the pics above were the finished product, or if you ended up closing up the gaps via body work?
my gen III grille is flaking, and your ingenuity to go with the gen 4 grille is pretty cool.

The pics above is the way it is right now.:favorites13:
I still need to finish, but not the fit.
I want to paint it but got too busy since the install, I will also put u-channel molding to make it look better.

It does take a lot to make it fit an older truck & at a few points in the work, I wished I didn't do it.

But dies look good on the truck.
