So I purchased a the Blower Motor Resistor for the fan speed controls but will that also fix the " no heater " issue? And why does have a faint smell of coolant 25% of the time? Weird right!?!

Sounds like you've got a faulty heater core. Have you noticed a drop in coolant level?

Yes. I have to add coolant every 2-3 months. I have very recently replaced the radiator and water pump if that makes any difference.

If you've replaced the both, i'm gonna say your heater core is leaking :/

^^ yup. When you say you can smell coolant through the vents, is it only when the heat is turned on or what?

Heat doesn't work right now. It could be my wife turned to it hot in hopes it magically works. she says heat comes from the floor vents. It I think it's just the transmission hump being warm. And no the carpet has never been damp and there's no drips under the truck either. Still heater core?

That's what it sounds like to me. Mine isn't leaking into the cab or onto the ground but I know it's my heater core. Occasionally I can see "steam" blowing out of my vents and the defrost is useless on the windshield. It fogs it up even worse

Parts are cheap enough. Just a new heater core and a couple gallons of coolant but the labor is what kills ya. It'll probably take a whole day at a shop since the entire dash has to be removed before you can get to the heater core

As said above parts are cheap but the install is terrible so much to take apart but obviously a must have is a heater core. My dad had it done in the '99 Durango I have before I got it seems to me almost all the money was spent on labor heater core was less than $100 I want to say like 50 bucks.
