Hi, went to replace an axle shaft seal in my 2004 ram 1500 today. When I took the cover off the differential I found a couple small pieces of steel in the bottom. First thought they were part of a bearing, but then noticed that they were actually off of the very end of the clutch pack alignment clips for the limited slip. See attached pics
Question is: is it wise to just replace the shaft seal and close it back up and not worry about the clips (I always thought the clips purpose was just to help with ease of installation of clutch packs and served no teal purpose beyond that) there is no visible damage to any other components. Or do I need to bite the bullet and pull the carrier and do a rebuild?
Truck has about 190,000km on it.
Thanks in advance
