Hey guys I am new and I am looking for answers for a problem with my pickup.I have a 2006 Dodge ram 4 door with the small 318 in it. It has 107k miles on it. Lately the last couple of months when I get to about 45 mph something starts to shake and when i get to 55-60 its really bad. I have gone through 1st and 2nd gear and in 2nd when u get to about 45 you start to feel it. Any help I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!!

Could be several things. I'd check your tires for flat spots, and check the balance on them. My truck shakes really bad lately. But it's because my leaf spring is broken.

Check those for a start.

On my '04 I had similar symptoms at around 100k mi. the front end would vibrate at higher speeds. could feel it in the steering wheel. I had to replace the front upper/lower ball joints and tie rod ends to fix it.

I had same problem is another truck years ago and it turned out to be one of my front tires. I believe someone said it had a broken belt in tire or something like that. Good luck.

Put a floor jack under the pumpkin and lift the rear tires off the floor. Spin it up to the speed where the shake is. If there is no shake then it's front suspension that's bad. If you do get a shake then it is in the drivetrain.

I'd go with the jack up and see if you get it first. Also, you don't have a 318 in a 2006 unless you put it there. I'm guessing 4.7?

How does your front suspension look? Ball joints, tie rods, pitman & steering box? How old are the shocks?

Like stated above it could be a few things. Rotate your tires and check each one for problems. I found a bulge in my tire when rotating and cleaning. Never felt it driving.

Welcome to RF.
