Alright guys i recently sold a couple of transmissions from trucks i parted out (2nd gens) I list in the ad the year and engine it out of and so far i had two ppl by them that had different years that say "yeah itll fit" then i get a call or text 2 days later that it bolts up but the plugs are different. Its really not my problem anyway bc i did not say it would fit or guarantee it. Anyway from 1994-2001 what are the years that trannys are the same/different? does anybody know? Any help is appreciated.

Here is my guess and could be wrong. 94 - 97 are the same then 98 - 2002 are the same. I am only going by when they did mid gen refresh and changed to more electrical overall. Someone come in with fact.

You pretty we nailed it smiles. Although I think 97 was the first year for the 46re. Up till then it was the 46rh. H meaning hydrolic controlled and E meaning electronic. At least that is the impression I am under.

The 46RH was used in 94 and 95...in 96 they started with the 46RE and used them til 2002. My old 96 had the 46RE too.

Ahh ok. Good call Adam I wasn't for sure when the change happened. I was guessing for the new model year.
