Hi every one anyone, i a 4.7 engine does anyone
have an idea what could be the reasons cause the engine is leaking coolant straight by the muffler ,and yesterday I removed the the air intake and the coolant was coming by the intake manifold you have any idea what could be the cause

Hi every one i have my 4.7 leaking coolant by the intake manifold

I have a mayor issue with the coolant is leaking straight to the exhaust I have no idea what could be this

My brain hurts.

First off, if you have coolant by the muffler......you have a magic truck.

Second, if you want more help, pictures are worth 1000 words.


and you need all the help you can get right now

Hi my truck yesterday I was toping of the coolant cause it's pretty much empty due I wasn't running my truck since it quit on me but as I said I removed the air intake housing and after a couple minutes without even starting the truck the coolant show up at intake manifold leaking out from the actual intake manifold

Intake gaskets. There are coolant passages between the heads and the intake manifold. I bet you its leaking from there.

try the 3rd gen forum, the 4.7l v8 is a 3rd gen motor.

Dude, why do you keep saying you never have seen that before?

As DodgeTx said, you should try the 3rd gen forums. But it sounds like an intake gasket to me. If just filling it with coolant causes it to start leaking by the rocker covers right there at the intake to the heads. You have an intake gasket leak, its also possible that the gasket has failed near the intake port as well, which would allow a lot of coolant into the cylinder.

Instead of writing that you've never seen that before, take a picture and put it up here.
