Will a regular 1.5 inch hose work to replace the factory hose on a 98 ram 2500? Are the diameters different at the filler neck and the tank?

I installed a flatbed on my truck and need a few more inches to reach a mounting point for the filler.

Just replaced one on my son's 2001 and I used an OEM replacement hose. I'm not sure if a straight hose would work, but the replacement hose had a flare on the tank end. I suppose you could always try. Maybe heat the end with a blow dryer or heat gun to make it more pliable.

I ended up just cutting it and splicing with a 6 inch 1.5 pipe, so far its worked pretty well.
