Howdy, Have another truck I'd like y'alls input on.

Here the low down
1500 4x4 2001 excab

5.9l v8 with 191k miles (quite a bit I know, my current has 200k)
16 inch lift
44 inch tires
Dual front shock setup

Tags are out
needs a paint job
A/C probably doesn't work

I'm a tad concerned with such a huge lift on the 1500 axles and only 5 lug rims if I wheel it.

Let me know what y'all think. Here is original post.

Mud Truck

I won't pay $8000 for it.

Why do either of you think no? to much lift? to much work needed? to high of a price? Im going to pay $4000 or less for it.

With that amount of lift the suspension alone will have been butt ******.

I wouldn't trust somebody else's suspension combo to achieve that height without **** just being ****. I agree with the others, save yourself the headache and leave it.

$4G you could part it out and make money.

But these two pictures are enough reason to not buy it.
Look at them. It's all wrong.

Because its a pile of garbage

It really is a pile of garbage. It's also an accident waiting to happen. I don't think I have ever seen u-bolts that long.

I dont see the issue... that suspension set up appears to be a BDS... are those King Shocks too?

The leverage applied to those u-bolts is incedible. The leafspring pack looks like it was thrown together from all the scrap leaves laying around in the junk yard.

If the guy selling it would take less than $1000 for it I'd do it, and park it in your front yard and tell your kids they have a new tree fort.

Does it drive? I wonder what a ride in that thing feels like. It's probably similar to skydiving and landing on a saguaro. I can't honestly see that surviving the mud pits, which is what I'm assuming it was "built" for. That's another reason to not buy it. I can't think of any reason that I would personally buy this, other than to **** off my neighbors.

But in all seriousness, do what you want to do. This truck would need a lot of suspension and drivetrain work if it's going to last. And by last I mean for a year or 2. In this setup if it's driven even a little bit things are getting stressed badly. I don't think this truck will see much wear issues, probably more break issues, which would scare me. Imagine crusing down the road and that pitman arm snaps.
