I have a 2000 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.2 in it. I have an issue that I can't seem to get a good answer too. Whenever I turn to the right my right front tire rubs on the lower control arm where my strut is bolted. It is wearing away at the tire. The truck has new struts, ball joints, tie rod end, sway arm, bearings, etc. Basically all new front suspension besides the springs all within this year. I also just recently had an alignment done and it still rubs. Both tires rubbed prior to front end overhaul but now it's just the driver side. Would you have any idea what is causing this???

Could it be bigger tires than you need? Im not sure specifically what would be causing this but maybe its weird backspacing. Im just not sure though.

What size tire? Offset wheels is what I'm doing to fix this issue.

Could be tire/wheels and even something as simple as a 1/4in wheel spacer may slove your issue.

More info is needed.

2wd or 4wd? Stock wheel/rim or aftermarket? size and offset would also help. Tire size?

You could adjust the steering stop bolts found on the steering knuckle to stop this.

This is showing where the steering stop is located on a 4wd.

Seems that a good many people have used the Bora 1.5 wheel spacers to help with the rubbing. I could be wrong, but I do read a lot on here.

Any hubcentric wheel spacer would work for him.

OP: If you want to temporarily fix it you could get an inch or so wheel spacers in the front to push them out a hair. Until you get different wheels, that would work for the time being. Even half inch wheel spacers might work.

I heard you could adjust that stop that Merc posted. I'm not 100% sure though.

Wheel spacers would solve your problem but they have been known to cause problems with the hubs. Maybe a good temporary Fox. Me, I just don't fully lock steering.
