I drive. A 2000 dogde ram 1500 sport. With a 5.2 v8 so whats the differrnce between the sport and the standard 1500

sports should have painted to match bumpers and grille shells where as teh standard are chrome.

On some models I think the gearing is 3.92 instead of 3.55. But not sure if that is just an available option and not specific to the sport package.

The drive train doesn't differ from sport to a non-sport models. There's only the appearance differences mentioned above

Yup, it's all appearance difference between the two. The only 1500 that got any worthwhile changes where the ones with the "OFFROAD" package. There was the SST Ram 1500 but I can't remember what all they had done to them other than graphics.
