So the VSS went out on my sister's truck and long story short, I have to go back next week.

Besides the wiring change, the bolt that attaches the VSS to its little adapter thing just turns in its hole Any suggestions to get it out?

Transmission tailhousing. Stupid me I didn't take a picture even though I had my camera. :Stupid Me:

I just went out and took one apart, there is a brass threaded barrel inserted into the plastic housing that the bolt threads into, so chances are the brass insert is just spinning with the bolt.

Edit to add photo.

If you have a pair of bent needle nose pliers try pinching the brass barrel from the bottom.

pry up on it while unbolting?
Ehh, I don't see that working without breaking things even more than they need to break.

I can see that working, but I don't have any like that.
I might try getting a straw and shooting some PB Blaster in it for a day or so.

Well if you can't get it out as you see I do have a spare one here, I can mail it down to you if you need it.

Hopefully I can get back over there this week. I will see about trying to get some tools in there when I do.
