i would never do a 426 stroker. maybe a 408. the only way i would do a 426 is if it was a strip motor only. things get to thin when you go that far.

my heads are cc'd at 68.

It would take a lot of work and money to match 390 hp on a newer hemi, but 300 to 350 hp is doable without redoing the entire motor.

Y'know, in the 10 + years I've owned my truck, I've never needed hemi power to get the job done. I've wished for lower gears a couple times...and a locker.

But not a Hemi. And if I did need the power, I'd step up to a Cummins.

I would say if I kept the truck another 10 years I would have a stage 1 408 in it. Plenty of torque to get a 60 something year old in trouble.

EDIT: Not tryin' to start any motor wars or nothing. My beliefs are mine alone.

360s are a dime a dozen around here. I'm definately going to build one once the financial time is right. But my truck is in no way a daily driver anymore, and about to be retired to strictly mud duty once I find a new truck to replace it.

I'll be having it built by a local engine company that specializes in IMCA engines.

are these stroker motors using stock tb's or are they going to a completly different fuel and ignition setup.I would like to do one of these motors with a advanced product design 750cfm carb an a msd crank trigger ignition.Around alot of imca modifieds but dont see any mopars powering them.My race truck has a 421 chevy with 2-barrel alky carb that makes 500hp and 520 on the torque, truck is a s-10 but wouldnt want to part with my ram getting my 28ft enclosed trailer to the track!

the couple that i have been around have bigger tb's, bigger injectors, and just a regular dist with a ign box. it also takes someone who knows how to tune the pcm. plus alot more mods. fuel pump, fuel regulator, new fuel lines, just to name a couple.

I agree 5.9 is awesome. I only have had 2 problems. Plenum and alternator. Aside from the random electrical gremlin. I have more than proven my 360 to the 350 Chevy guys. She ain't fast by any means. But boy will she pull whatever you put behind her.

I really liked my 5.9. It was a good strong motor.

If you think the Gen 3 RCSB hauled butt, go try a rcsb Hemi Express.:winner_first_h4h:

Virtually any new truck (heck the 4.7) has more HP than the ol '360. I just didn't want a total dog after the '12 Mustang GT I had (412 HP sets a pretty high bar!). The Express fit the bill very well.
