I fixed the speedometer accidentally today. The truck needed a new batter, the one that came in it when I bought it was way too small and only had 550 cold cranking amps.
Anyway, while replacing the battery and replacing the terminal connections, I noticed a small ground wire that attached to the fender near the battery that was in really bad shaped. I believe that ground goes to the cruise control, at least it leads to that area. I replaced the connection and wouldn't you know it, the speedometer is working again! Hopefully this isn't a fluke and the minor damage to those 2 teeth on the tone ring are not the issue. I really don't want to tear the rear end down again.
