I have an 01 1500 4X4 with the 5.9. lifted, 35's, but other than that mostly stock. I need better response, but am not real sure what to try first...
Mostly Stock (lifted) 01 1500 4X4. what to do to it first???

You can always start with the big 3, exhaust, intake, tuner. Should make it nice an peppy for ya.

I'm assuming you mean throttle response? Most guys start with something like a cold air intake or exhaust, a programmer is another good option that will add some decent ponies with the ol' 5.9L. As far as simple mods that's about it, anything further would be like gears, torque converter, heads, 1.7 roller rockers, cam, etc...

Welcome to RF. As everyone's said, the easiest things would be intake, exhaust, and tuner.

I would say tuner was the best bang for the buck.

check Plenum Gasket see if leaking
if leaking check cat
full tune up and new fuilds
then add fun stuff,, CAI or 14x3, no cat or high flow muffler, SCT tuner, 1.7rr, e-fan,
but 35in tires ,,,,4.56 gears would be nice, if you have 3.55 now
