So today me and my buddy after work attempted to extract my fill plug for my transfer case which turned into an epic fail. The fill plug has been stripped out since I got the truck and I haven't messed with it til now. It's had a slow leak and I think its down extremely low which is causing my 4WD to be a pain to shift into. So we're in the back lot of the dealership drilling the plug to get the extractor bit into it and he goes, is that a crack? SERIOUSLY!!! I look closer and sure enough there's a crack in my case. If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all...
So he told me to go buy a plug and a couple quarts of ATF from Orielly's and we'll do it at his house tomorrow. Fine with me. As far as the crack I guess I'll just keep adding fluid. Anyways, I run down to Orielly's and tell them what I need and the guy looks at me like he has no clue which plug it takes so he gave me 2 to choose from and I said just give me both I'll bring back which one doesn't fit since for both was only 5 bucks so no big deal. I call him and tell him the 2 they gave me and he tells me that he doesn't think either will fit, freaking awesome. So I call the local Dodge dealership and they tell me they have a plug in stock. It costed me a whopping .86 cents with my discount threw work. So I guess I'll be looking around for transfer case's and if anyone has a gently used one let me know.
Sorry about the essay I've written but I just needed somewhere to vent, my stress level is threw the roof and I had to tell someone....
