Just joined but some of yall may know me from dodge forum as quadcabluv. I have owned 4 Rams with my current one being a 2001 2500 2wd with the 360 magnum. I was recently involved in a collision due to someone running a redlight. So I purchased a 98 2500 4x4 reg long bed with a bad motor. I will be combining the 2 into a 2001 quad cab short bed on a 98 2500 4x4 chassis in the next few weeks. I will post some pics later when I get on my pc.

you don't have very good luck with your trucks. so when do you plan on rebuilding the trans. knowing your luck it will most likely go bad a week after you install the new engine. do you get a discount for the 5th or 6th trans rebuild?

The 98 4x4 I bought has a rebuilt trans with less than 10 miles on it, done at my shop, as well as u joints and brakes. So im good to go there. And as far as the motor goes im going to pull the motor out of my 2wd that I juat put heads on and drop it into the 4x4 chassis. So I should have a solid drivetrain. And yea I still have a free rebuild coming to me. Lol.

as you can see I really need a 4wd. Though I have only been stuck once, which was in my driveway in 3 ft of snow.

Heres the damage fron the accident I was in last week.20131008_074408_zps1e8c09f9.jpg

Not bad for a 40 mph collision. I flipped that van right onto its roof. All 4 tires left the ground lol.

Heres the donor truck I bought

i can't believe you flipped a van with so little cosmetic damage done to your truck. i am guessing your truck is still drive able but the insurance company wants to right it off?

the tires on the new truck make it look pretty aggressive. looks good.

Yeah everyone was rather shocked at the lack of damage caused to my truck. The insurance company did not call it a total loss for my truck. They cut me a check for almost 3k. The thing that sucks most about the damage is the ashtray ad dash bezel was broke off during the wreck. I should have been wearing a seatbelt. And the donor truck being a 98, has the old style dash so I still have to replace those.

Edit. The tires on the donor truck are brand new 35" maxxis mudders radials.

must be a dodge thing. that sounds like a pretty good deal. you should always wear a seat belt even if you don't have to.

the tires look awesome on the truck. only thing that sucks it is not a quad cab. the extra room is nice.

Must be an EARLY EARLY 98, as 98 was the change over year for the interior.

Welcome to RF, QCL! Glad to see you aboard.

The donor truck looks awfully nice for a donor truck. lol

It may be a 97 , cant realy remember.

That picture only shows the good side of the truck. The right front fender, light, and bumper are no good. But haha I need the front right. I will be buying or fabbing a ranch stlye bumper and maybe putting some lift springs in the front when I do the swap. And as for it being a reg cab, remember I plan on swapping my quad cab body and bed onto the 4x4 chassis. So I will have the best of both.

Just remember that 10/97 is usually 98. I'm thinking that's the month they start labeling the next years vehicles.

Well....I guess it has one good side. lmao Just proves that looks can be deceiving when it comes to vehicles. I do remember you were planning a body swap. And yes, do get a rancher on there.:flamingdevil:
