Last week I lost both low beams and the hi beam on the driver's side. I replaced the bulbs and the passenger side now has DRL and hi/low beams, the driver's side is a different story.

The DRL lights dimly but the hi/low beams do not work at all. I swapped bulbs with the passenger side to verify that it wasn't a bulb issue and got the same result. Fuses test good.

Any suggestions would be appreciated and BTW, I'm not a mechanic or electrician so speak slowly :)

Let me start off by saying, I hate DRL. They make the whole thing more complicated than it needs to be.

However, this shouldn't be too difficult given that one side is working properly.

Im going to guess that you don't have the sport model and only have two bulbs instead of four.

Since the passenger side is operating normally, we can rule out everything after they splice together.

You said the drivers side dims slightly with drl. But you just said hi/low doesn't work. Do they stay lit when hi/low is turned on, just at the same level as before? Or do they shut off.

I'm going to guess that they just stay the same brightness. If not, we will have to look elsewhere.

Since both high and low don't work, its probably not the two separate circuits for each one, but instead a common circuit. The only common circuit is the supply.

Lets check by using a fused jumper wire, or if you really have to, just a straight jumper wire from battery positive.

On the bulb, on the connector side, flat side up. (9004) The leftmost pin is ground, middle is low, rightmost is high. Take your 12v jumper and connect it ONLY to the leftmost pin. The front lighting is positive ground, so the 'ground' pin is actually battery positive.

Either secure the jumper wire to the bulb connector (you need to have it connected to the rest of the truck) or hold it and have someone else operate the lights. You 'can' use a paper clip to backprobe the connector, but this will damage the weather seal.

If this fixes the problem, then check either the fuse (corrosion on the blade terminals) or the wiring heading to the bulb from the PDC.

Sounds to me like a bad supply from the battery.
