so I was curious about the front suspension on the off-road edition 1500s.

how does it get it's 2.5 inch lift WITHOUT shifting the axle to the drivers side?

does the off-road edition get a special track bar? or a factory drop bracket?

anyone know?

It's a 2in lift front and rear if I remember correctly. 2.5 is the tipping point for a ***** track bar.

Are you going with a 2.5 inch kit?

I have the complete rough country 2.5 leveling kit. front and rear blocks, and the extended shocks. just need a track bar.

You could run it and see what happens. These trucks are so weird in that some can run a 2.5 fine, others have the axle pull.

Wait wait you don't need an adjustable track bar until you get to 3" lift or more. Stock one is fine.

Op your truck an ORE?

military term coined in Vietnam I think...

The phrase came in long before that... made popular in the WWII classic "Saving Private Ryan" and their depiction of the Invasion on the Beaches of Normandy.

As far as the track bar goes, don't get too crazy with the lift, if you want a hassle free towing experience. Especially when times are tough and funds are short.

My two cents.

Ah, I couldn't remember if it was WWII or Vietnam. Knew it was one of those two. Thanks for clarifying. :D

^^^ Ok thank you for answering that.

Stock bar is fine with just 2.5 lift, factory gives you up to 1/8"-1/4" allowance. You might/should get an alignment done after your install, steering wheel will be off center as well. Did you get new rear u-bolts? You will need some. Stock shocks will also work with this lift size as well.

As for what's diff in the ORD trucks

1.75-2" taller over reg 1500's
Factory 4.10 gears
Rear LSD
Extra webbing on the front diff's pumpkin
Different front springs
17" ORD wheel
Tow hooks
Special ORD badging

I have the front and rear blocks, the u bolts for the rear, and 4 r/c n2.0 shocks for 2-4" lifts

I am more of a rear add a leaf person. Stacking rear blocks is frowned upon but people do do it and company's do sell them, just keep an eye on the rear u-bolt tq once a week for a bit. A tall one piece block is better over stacked blocks, just have to watch for axle wrap.

if it wasn't for the fact my truck is only a daily driver, i would use either a single block, or the add a leaf. i only want to get a bit mroe clearance to get some 33's or 35's on the truck to help out in the snow.

Bigger tires are actually WORSE in the snow. Wider you go more slipping you're gonna do. Skinny tires work much better in the snow. I wouldnt do 35`s on a half ton they eat through to many front end parts to be worth the. Sounds to me like you should do an Add a leaf, not a block if you`re gonna be towing. My 2 cents.
