I'm working on my 1995 dodge ram 2500HD 4X4.with 5.9l gas engine and auto trans. I'm swapping out the old catalytic converter (which previous owner hollowed out) for a nice used one I bought off craigslist. Physically the two cats are identical but the extra one I bought has 2 O2 sensors. one before the cat and one after.
My my old one only has 1.O2.sensor, before the cat. And, my truck only has wiring for one sensor. I searched all over the underside to see if there was a 2nd harness but doesn't seem to be on my truck.
I also noticed that the sensor plug types are different between my old car and the 2 sensors I got in my craigslist cat. So I swapped my sensor into the "before" position and will leave the "aft" sensor in to plug the hole so there's no exhaust leak.
Is my truck correct for 1995? Only the one O2 sensor??
