Overdrive ?

Hey guys, just a quick question. My shifter arm has a button for over drive but when I press it nothing happens. No lights no nothin. My dakota has the same button and when I press it, it engage overdrive and a light comes on. Does my truck even have over drive?? It's a 2000 btw

Yes you have OD its not working but you do have it. I would look for a blown fuse, then check the wiring plugs that go to the tranny.

Edit: Correction it might be in OD and you can't take it off with the switch.

Usually the button/light turns *off* OD, for hilly roads, or when towing or whatever. I assume it's the same in these trucks.
