Hey All!

I started noticing a chirping sound coming from under the hood (2000 Ram v8 5.9) and after some investigation saw that the power steering pulley was a little loose. Should I replace the entire pump or can just the pulley be replaced? I can't tell just from looking at the photos of the parts online.

I am a little frustrated because I just had the tensioner replaced about a month ago and the alternator and idler pulley replaced by a shop a few days before I started noticing the noise.

Any help appreciated!

You can get just the pulley, you need a spiecal tool to remove and install it. I would remove the pulley and make sure it's not the shaft going into the pump, and have a new PS pump on hand in case you need it.

Good advice Merc225hp. I will be sure to get both the pulley and the pump just in case. Thanks!
