96 indy truck ,5.9 ,auto o/d 3.55 rear diff ,275/60-17 rear tires , speedometer reads ten kilometers slow from sixty kilometers and up ,have changed gear in trans from 37 teeth to 36 teeth with no change . any help would be great . these are factory size tires ,10 kms makes for good tickets $$$$ .

10km is only about 6miles so that's really not that horrible. Tire and gear setup plays the biggest part on the speedo for these trucks but even then there's some leeway

Doesn't the speedometer signal come from the rear differential on our trucks? I know on mine it does as I had a 46RH transmission in my 01 when i first got it, no cable hooked up, but my speedometer still worked.

99+ are rear axle. 94-97 are trans. 98 was a weird year and has both do it's build date dependent

my 98 v10 with 47re has sensor in rear axle which i just replaced and speedo dont work (cluster check works), before I check wiring from cab do u think it also checks from trans??

On the 47re I believe the vehicle speed sensor is on the trans it should be a 1 inch white plastic sensor towards driver side rear of transmission on the side
