I have a 95 2500 heavy duty, it has the 5.9 gas in it, auto, an 4x4. There is a squeak sound when I put it into drive or reverse. It will go away some times at speed then when I let off of the gas it comes back. Checked the fluid in it and it is not low. Is there any idea of what it could be? I don't do trans so have an don't know rams every well. Hoping I don't have to replace the trans in it. Want to get it fixed or stoped.

Don't have to its not them. Turn the truck on, press on brake, shift into drive, keep the pedal mashed an it makes the sound. If I shift it into nut then it stops the sound.

Do you hear it at all if you just rev it up in neutral?

I would get it serviced by a tranny shop and see what they say. Could be a band slipping or a torque converter issue. Better safe than sorry.
