Today's progress simple tune up........4.5 hours in changing cap and rotor. Frigging nightmare! Changed 6 plugs.....2 are not yet able to remove due to rust deforming those plug heat shields. Hammered a socket on and got a 1/4 turn felt like it was going to snap. So for another day.

Fixed all my weird wireing issues. Ignition off lights on my heater fan comes on......reverse my parking lights come on......some idiot wired the trailer lights wrong.....also used romex electrical caps....:)

rotated the tires......took a drum off....the abrasive part of the shoe came off with the drum.....now quick question?? Driver rear emergency cable is broke. Grabbed the rear passenger cable at the adjuster literally pulled down 10" before I heard it engage its drum??? Cable is sitting 8" below the frame? Why? should I do the entire cable system or just the broke drivers cable? Thanks gents....also need a filler neck and rotors n pads......fun blowing money on a rusty dodge.

Went through that nightmare when I got mine. One snapped and didn’t think I would ever get it out. Just kept soaking with penetrating oil. Removed the heat shields and don’t miss them.

Can I remove them with the plug still in?

Yes you can. Most guys will tell you to use vise grips but that's a **** poor way to go about removing them in my opinion. I like a large flat head screwdriver and a hammer to make a gap all the wau around the outside edge where it's pressed in.

Update. Today I rebuilt the entire rear brake assembly and exhaust. $323.84. Plus another $60 in a new fuel filler neck. Thursday it goes in for the drivers side rocker Fender and cab. corner. Final goal is to be from junkyard to daily driver for under $2000.00 so not doing to bad. Body work is going to be around $650

Did notice quite a bit power after fixing the exhaust leaks. Then the fact I had seized wheel cylinders. The brakes are fantastic. Not a bad week.
