Torque converter switch?

I saw a youtube video of a 2nd gen 5.2 with a torque converter switch. Meaning you can lock or unlock the tc at the flip of a switch.

What are the pros and cons of this?

Supposedly it'll get you better gas mileage, but it will flip a CEL and if you don't flip it off, you'll stall your engine out at a stop

Similar to this my buddy just installed a switch that supposedly let's him control when overdrive kicks in or if at all on his 97 12v. I told him he's stupid because the shifter knob does the exact same thing but he claims this is better. I call bs

I mis-spoke. He put in a tps delete switch or something like that that allows him to change the mph at which it engages. Because i guess his tps is bad and this was cheaper

There fun in something faster. Buddies Cummins has one and it'll run a lot better with him controlling it rather then it shifting. But yes it stalls. I was driving one day and was at a stop sign and hit it with my knee and it killed the truck.
