I have a Horn Blasters Shocker classic228 train horn that I just bought installed and I need help with the wiring. My solenoid is not activating and I have it wired as my instruction manual shows, one wire from solenoid is grounded, the other runs to the toggle switch( to activate horns ) and the other wire from the switch to the positive battery terminal. I also tried just running the wire straight from the solenoid to the positive battery terminal but it still won't click.

I just payed over $500 for this and its not working please help!!!

Make sure you have a good ground, and make sure all of your connections are good.

I have double Checked all my Connections and the solenoid is grounded to the same spot as the Compressor.... and the Compressor works just fine

So the solenoid isnt activating at all? do you have the air lines hooked up yet?

Try switching the hoses around on the solenoid, sometimes if theyre backwards it wont work. If that doesnt work, I would say its a bad solenoid and send it back to hornblasters

Is the Solenoid Polarized? the directions say use the red wire for positive + and the black for ground - but both wires coming from the Solenoid are grey

is there any distinguishing marks on the wires to see which one is supposed to be which? you could try switching them...never messed around with a train horn myself and i'm no electrician, but i would probably try switching the wires and seeing if it works.

It shouldnt be polarized, i just bought a hornblasters solenoid and it doesnt matter which way you hook it up

I would say you just got a faulty solenoid it you wired it directly and didn't click. Maybe get a replacement from them.
