I have a 99 1500 2WD automatic. My truck keeps slipping out of gear, only in first gear usually when i come to a stop. My fluid level is good, and has recently been flushed. I'm thinking a possible solution might be an adjustment of the bands, problem is, I have no idea how to do it. I am pretty sure the bands for gears 1-3 are located on the outside of the transmission. I've been doing searches everywhere for a tutorial or a write up, but no luck on finding one.
Does anyone know either where to find a GOOD step by step tutorial? or can anyone explain the process to me with some good detail? It would help if i could get ahold of some pics, or even better, a video to help me out with this.
also, if anyone has any other ideas on what could possibly be going wrong with my tranny, please let me know.
