My truck is a 2001 4x4 SLT Larmie with an automatic tranny and 86,000 miles. I just noticed my lower flexible tranny line running into my radiator is leaking( leaked about a 3" circle in about 24hrs). I believe it is the check value that is leaking but please see my attached pics(green arrows point to what I believe to be leaking). Should I do the check value deletion mod? If so please attach a good url of a website that has a good write up on it. Thanks guys!

NOTE: the green arrow is pointing to the part of the hose that connects into the radiator

You should consider doing the check valve delete instead of trying to just replace the line with an OEM line.

I was considering doing the check value delete mod untill I read a post that said that some guy did it and he ended up putting the check value back on because it can be dangerous if the torque converter does get tranny fluid in it..

Also I noticed from the url that magic sent me, that my check value isn't the one leaking, it is the tranny cooler line below the check value line...

Also after reading the first post of the check value delete mod and looking at the pics many times I noticed that his return line (line with the check value) is coming directly from the bottom of his radiator. I'll get pics of mine in the morning but I don't think my does that... I believe that my 2 flexible tubes go into rigid tubing(just like his) but then pass by the radiator on the passenger side and up and into the auxiliary cooler that is infront of my radiator

I plummed mine to go thru the radiator as well as an external cooler. The reason I did it that way is I live in ilinois, and its not uncommon for it to hit -20 in the mornings when I warm up the truck. So the radiator will actually warm the transmission fluid up, because it can damage the transmission if it's too cold.

After further inspection it, I now know that the check value line isn't the one that is leaking. It is the one that is coming from the tranny into the axillary radiator(atleast I thing that is the one from the tranny). Please s3 new pic with green arrow. It is leaking very slightly.

Is it not simple to just replace the line with connectors? It looks to be about a foot long.

Cut the compression fitting sleeves off replace that section with the appropriate rubber line and worm drive clamps

I think I am going to do as said above.. cut the flexible section out by cutting a small piece of the metal tube on each side and put a new hose on it and clamp it down.. should I try to flare the ends of the metal pipe or will a simple worm clamp or two on each side hold it?

How much pressure will the line receive?
