in my 01 ram 318 auto 4x4. my trucks transmission isn't slipping. it just wont shift. it had been shifting if I put it in neutral then back to drive. now it wont shift out of 1st gear. could it be a transmission sensor or computer or something simple like that? really need the help. cant afford a new transmission or a rebuild of my current transmission.

According to the 2001 FSM, you're looking at:
Governor Component Electrical Fault
Front Band out of Adjustment
Clutch or Servo Malfunction

I'd be willing to be the governor pressure solenoid has gone south on you. Hows the fluid look? Changed it lately? Clogged filter is a remote possibility.
