Hi all! New member to the forum. Can someone answer a question for me? I am wondering if a transmission from a 2001 Ram 2500 will work in a 1999 Ram 1500. I know the transfer cases are different but are the trans same? Both have a 5.9. Someone told me that there was internal wiring harness differences. Thanks in advance for your time and knowledge!

If they're both v8 then you'll need to swap the 2001 governor sensor, solenoid, and tcc/overdrive solenoids over to the 96-99 style. Not hard at all
