Haven't posted much but got my new tailpipe mounted and exhaust is pretty well done being messed with for awhile.
Both my HD bumpers are off. Traded the rear for a pretty clean factory rear and a decent 4th gen front. 4th gen is now on and plastics/fog lights pulled so i can sand and paint the chrome. It had 2 little rust spots on the top where the previous owner welded the brackets on. Hit it with a 60g flapwheel disk and finished it with body filler. Used some self etch primer over it to get keep it protected but still have to sand and prime the rest of the bumper

Went and bought a wr250 last night, plans are to make it street legal. Also in the process of making a 1980 Suzuki dr400 street legal and a 1985 xr200.

I've done a few now, so should have them up and legal in about a week.

Also on a side note, my lt250r quadracer that was street legal has a bad crank bearing and parts are expensive and hard to find:(

I've been buying some bikes and four wheelers lately too. Bought a 2000 model scrambler 400 for $400 last saturday and sold it monday for $1000, only had to clean the carb and replace the battery. Quick $550 profit

HA HA HA! I feel stupid for asking, but what kind of "setup" are you running right now?

Today is February 17 in Iowa and the high hit 60 degrees. Needless to say, I decided to spend the day dicking around OUTSIDE for a change. I swapped the 90.5" drive belt with an 89.5" belt which should hopefully fix the squealing problem in my "AC removed" setup. I also changed the oil with some good ole' 10w30 Valvoline conventional. Hey, it ain't fancy but it's always worked for me. I also decided to clean up the K&N 10x2 filter and swapped my open element back on. I'm gonna find out once and for all if my truck really runs better with this vs the factory airbox and decide whether or not I'm going to shell out $170 for a Trick Flow intake.

I also attempted to revive the Moutaineer. With a pretty much shot battery and patience with a 200 amp starting charger, I was able to finally get it running. Got a CEL and a very obvious misfire. SOB, I changed the plugs and wires last year. I'll find out tomorrow with my scanner what the CEL is about. I really need this truck back on the road so that I can proceed with a little restoration on the ole' Ram later this year...

I unplugged both o2 sensors on my 98 v10 and got p0152, and p0132 which shows me bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 1. So I guess I don't have a post cat o2 sensor which is awesome but it's pretty awesome to have this setup from the factory

I found the Mountaineer's new water pump in my closet. I counted the bolt holes and had to sigh despairingly at the nine count. ****, this job would be a piece of cake if I could just pull the grille and radiator and I could, but the resultant opening is still going to be small as hell and make the job a PITA anyway. Stupid small SUV grilles...

So I said **** it for today and gave the Ram a good hand-washing. Hand washing a vehicle. In February. In Iowa. Crazy, man, LOL.The 20-year-old paint has a nice shine to it, but it's still gouged and scratched as hell all around. Plenty of rust on the lower half too. I want to just replace the "skin" wherever I can. Bucho dinero to buy the entire panels, but it really would be the best way to go. Guess my daily driver will become a driving project. For as long as I'm going to spend cleaning up the underside, maybe I'll box up the frame just for the hell of it. Maybe I can make a juggernaut out of the old girl yet, LOL.

I also finished up cleaning the interior. Stupid blowed up Pepsi got in places that I couldn't even imagine. Even though the epicenter was underneath the driver's seat, I found blots of syrup water in places it really shouldn't have been able to get to. As the year goes, I'm sure that I'll still find high fructose corn syrup blatted in other places. Learn from my pain, NEVER leave soda pop in your vehicle during a sub-zero weekend...

Also, I decided to check for slop in the throttle body cable. I grabbed a nice, heavy brick and braced it against the accelerator at WOT. Looking under the hood, I found that my throttle blades were indeed completely open. Considering that my TPS maxes out at 66% value with my scanner, I may have to consider replacing it although it records perfectly smooth curves under live data screening. Hmm...

I just did a full wash polish and wax yesterday. Didn't go as far as using rubbing compound because it would likely remove what's left of my paint but mine turned out about the same as yours sounds.

Also got my 4th gen bumper on, masked sanded primed and painted. ****** up too. Didn't think about and used black primer instead of standard light gray and now my finished product looks pretty much black with the slightest tint of green instead of just ****** green.

Getting pissed at the forum too. I can't post pics anymore. Too large apparently though i haven't changed anything on my phone

Well Wednesday it was 70 degrees and now we have 9 inches of snow. I love Iowa. Pulled one if these out of the ditch on my way to work. Supposedly a big rig couldn't get it out and broke a strap. The dodge pulled it right out without issue

Haven't been on here in a while. Good to see this place still active. Bought a new daily a few weeks ago so haven't been driving the truck. Used the old girl to haul my **** to the new apartment today. Sat for 4 weeks and fired right up.

Just been driving it as per the usual. Picked up a new oil pan gasket and passenger side inner axle seal as they're both leaking. Hopefully Sunday night and Monday I'll get em. Today i gutted the cat to get a little more noise . Absolutely perfect now!

rear end was smoking on flat bed, removed the driver side rear wheel to find the hub bearing has gone out. Anyone know the size of the nut once you remove the axle shaft?

Make sure your front dif isn't overfilled that will cause it to leak.

3/4" below the plug is the spec, Anything above that it will leak

Inner axle seal ? Have fun! Lmao
Driving it around a lot. Putting close to 200 miles on it every week now. Which is a ***** on my wallet. Spintech pro street 9000 coming soon. Oh and some total bro dozed 20x14 wheels to fit the 38s in my basement. Then subsequently, more fender/bumper cutting to make the 38s fit.. lol

Yeah it was a pain in the ass lol. Built my own pull type press for doing it last time and it worked well this time. So far no leaks on it or the oil pan

Forgot to mention, when i did that oil pan i accidentally bent the torque converter inspection plate. First startup it was grinding on the flexplate. Pulled it back off last night and after 2hrs of bending and grinding it scrapes less lol. I have a new one on the way so it fits like stock but that could be another 2 weeks for all i know

I was able to change my rear hub with a used one and good bearings the socket is 2 9/16 rounded.

Da pepper how hard was the front inner axle seal? my passenger side is weeping a good bit. My usual remedy is to just go mudding and the dirt clay seals her back up:)

^ LOL, I hear ya. When my driver side seal started leaking my mechanic pulled everything apart and found a bunch of dirt and crud inside. We figured that the seal was probably toast for a long time but the layer of dirt held the oil back for quite some time, LOL.

It's a real **** to press that seal in. Have to make your own tool with all-thread. I used about 4ft of 1/2" all-thread, 4 nuts, piece of plate steel and a 2" hole saw that i cut the teeth off of to make a pull type press. Pretty sure i overfilled it just slightly or ****** it just every so slightly. Got a few drops come out Thursday and Friday but nothing now and only seen pavement driving. Going to be keeping an eye on it
