Will coil springs from a 1500 2wd fit in a 2500 2wd? My 99 2500 with a 360 has a broken coil and I can get springs from a 1500. Will they fit, will it be too soft, will it lower it? Thanks if anyone has heard of doing this.

It will most likely be too soft and believe it or not wear out the spring and the shock.

If you're replacing it, why not just replace it with the right spring??

Yes you can, and it won't make a difference. The front coils are the same in the 1500, 2500, and 3500 with the v6 and 5.2/5.9 v8s. There are only two different coil springs for the front, the v6 and v8 set, and the V10 and Cummins set.

Great thanks. It didn't seem to make much sense that they would be too different assuming the same diameter, my truck with a 360 shouldn't weigh much more in the front than a 1500 with a 360.

Thats the thing, they don't. The front end is the same in all of them, its the rear that changes quite a bit. Also, 4x4 is a completely different setup than 2x4.
