You mean U-bolts lol. And yeah, that's all you should have to do. You might not have to completely remove them either. I'd try loosening up one side first and see if you could slide the OL spring out. Save yourself some time if it works out lol

That's exactly what I meant lol guess I'd have to drop the axle to relieve pressure right?

I remember my overload spring having a bevelled punch piece that held it to the spring pack. Just a simple punch punched it out. But I had to remove mine, your 2nd gen might be different.

Just put the frame on jacks and a hand jack under the pumpkin to releave tension, remove the rear tires and unbolt the rear leaft spring shackles. Then unbolt the U-bolts, or just loosten them and you should be able to figure out if the leaf spring needs to come off the truck first or not.

Just throwin my 2 cents in, but mine rides a lot rougher since i took the ol out. it will be going back in as soon as i have time and garage space.
