Can I put 2003-2010 2500/3500 shocks onto my 1997 1500. I found shocks in my price range for the lift that I'm custom doing and I need to know if they will fit.
Thanks guys

Its gonna be 8 1/2inches I'm using 2500 coils up front a 4 in add a leaf in the rear with a 6in block to delete the factory block (temporary). Drop track bar bracket, drop pitman arm, custom short arms and 99 1 ton steering (t style). Also if anyone knows. How hard is it to put steering from an 08 f550 on my truck. It is a crossover style steering. I have a 2001 Dana 44 in front and a 99 9.25 in the rear. If you need anymore details let me know. Thanks guys

Yes the 2500 shocks have the same ends on them, as for length you will have to see what you need.

2500 coils and short arm's with 8.5 lift, it's going to ride hard, very hard in the front. Nothing is a bolt in job for the F550SD steering, tapers have to be changed, custom drag link and cross link will all have to be custom made by a reputable shop. Just a trackbar drop bracket will not be enough, you need a full trackbar system for 8" lift or more.

Thank you. That's what I needed to know. Eventually I am going to have the fab shop at work build be a set of long arms with johnny joints but they are busy for the next 6-8 months so I'm just gonna do short arms for now. I'm going to be adding a lot of weight up front. The springs are for a v10 not the Cummins so they aren't as stiff but still stiff. I'm building steel bumpers front and rear and adding winches. Where can I get a track bar that won't cost me a grand lol. I also have a newborn son being born in November so I can't spend too much or the wife will kill me lol. And I gotta wait to put everything on till after the baby is born lol BC we take my truck every where.
Thanks for the help merc.

For a track bar kit that will not break the bank look at the skyjacker DTBA27 about $300-$400. I am using one and so far it is working fine, it needs a new rod end after a year but thats the only problem so far. I have 7" lift in the front and I still have lots of adjustment in it.
