When I first put my 285/75/16's on my truck, they would rub at full lock on the control arm (I believe). If I get a 2.5 inch level would they still rub? I've got the stock wheels on it still so will the level solve my problem? Looking to get tires in mid november so I want to get it ordered and installed before they go on if it'll make em clear.

Those are about a 33" tire right? I run 34's on a 2.5 level with no problems, but I'm not sure of the differences between 2nd and 3rd gen rams in that particular area.

Think Mark is running a 35 on a level with no issues, but i would wait for him to assure you of that.

Not sure on the 11.5's but I think you'd still rub. The lift isn't the issue with them rubbing, it's the backspacing, or lack thereof, on the factory wheels.
I was running a 35x12.5 tire on my factory wheels and rubbed on my upper control arms before I hit full lock. I mounted a set of my buddy's 35x10.5" tires on there and didn't rub but it was pretty close. So I think you'd still have a little rubbing with the level and those tires. You might be able to get away with a 1/2" spacer and clear them

I run 285/70/17s with no trouble even before the 2 1/2" leveling.

Well from what I understand. I am in the same perdicament. All the level will do is raise the fram away from the front axel by using spring spacers. Now that will allow for a taller tire but not exactly a wider tire. For a wider tire you need to be more concerned with the backspacing of the wheel and the width of said wheel. Now I don't know the specifics. But from all the research that I have done. If you use the stock tires a 31 is about the max with zero rub. this is because the diameter of the tire is larger therefore making it closer to the control arm. Moving the wheel further from the axel housing will increase the space at full lock. So there is a combo of the 2 that you need to be looking at.

For example:
I want to run 35"s on a 2.5 in level. now the rear will fit just fine because those wheels don't turn. But int he front I will need a spacer or new wheels with a greater backspace to allow for the tires to turn.

So to answer your question. Gettign the level will help you clear but not the control arms. But a 33" tire is only a radius increase of about 1 inch. So you may have some rub but it shouldn't be substantial. If you want to be 100% sure that the tires will not rub get a wheel with larger backspacing or get some 1/2" spacers or so to make some clearence.

Hope this helps out with some of the confusion.
