I have a 1999 Dodge Ram Sport 1500 5.9l

I recently bought a 3in body lift and I could not put it on due to rusted bolts on the bed. So I'm not going to cut my bed up for that.

If i get a 2.5in leveling kit what should I get, and what should I do for the rear.
(ex. torsion key, block, add a leaf) I want the lift to be equal in height for the front and rear. Also is there anything else I need for a lift like this.

You don't have torsion bars at all on this truck.

Do a 2.5 in spacer and an equal add-a-leaf in the back.

You might eventually need an adjustable track bar for the front, as 2.5-3 inches is really pushing it's limits.

my truck has torsion bars? their right next to the muffler bearing....no but seriously..what are your plans or goals for your truck?

im running a 3' inch spacer from hell bent steel, they were 100 shipped to my door. took me around and hour in the driveway alone to put in, i did shocks at the same time, also took off the front swaybar. i did the spacers to level my truck.

you could run a block in the rear aswell. an add a leaf is a better choice though.

post pics!

The coil with a longer shock will ride better, that's for sure. However they ARE more expensive, and slightly more labor intensive depending on the brand. With a spacer you unbolt the shock, lift the frame, and let the axle droop slowly.

And I run 33's with only a little rub. :naughty:

I don't see why that wouldn't work. Just remember that your track bar may or may not like the level. lol

I run 33s on 20s stock height and I only rub when backing up and cranked fully to the right.

What kind of shocks do you recommend for a 2.5 inch lift?

Most run stock length shocks. It just makes the ride a bit stiff since they can't extend quite as far.

I'm thinking Bilstein makes a good replacement shock for lifted applications.
