Ok I can't be the only one who is trying to lift their 2wd. When I bought the truck the previous owner put a 3 inch level kit on the front and never changed the shocks. it sits with a funny stance now and rides rough as hell. My question is should I change out that 3 for a 2 inch and add a body lift or just replace the front shocks and add a block to fix the stance?

People do it just not as many as the 4wd trucks and aftermarket support for lifting a 2wd 2nd gen is slim. To my understanding 2.5 in the front for a 2wd is about it before things go wacky in the front suspension. I think there is a 5.5 lift kit out there for a 2wd 2nd gen bds maybe. Use a add a leaf in the rear over using blocks if you want to level it.

Ruff ride, hard to align the front wheels, odd behaviour going over bumps in the road, hard to steer, road wandering. A arms, ball-joints, steering all need to be addressed when lifting a truck more so on a 2wd. If there is a spindle lift out there that is the best way to go, otherwise a good kit will have new upper A arms, steering parts, possible new spindles and coil-springs I have also seen them coming with a new crossmember for under the motor.

It all comes down to keeping the geometry right when lifting a truck.

Ok so I should ditch the level kit all together and put a spindle lift on. Could I fit 35s with this lift?

To use the truck with 35's you need a good 5" lift, so like your org post small suspension lift and a body lift is how I would go to help keep the cost down, if money is not an object then suspension lift all the way.

Well money is an issue lol. Do you think the 2 inch level and body lift will let me run 35's?

So a 2" level and a 3" body is 5" so I don't see why not. In your case its all about the inner fender liner and the dog leg of the fender itself. Both can be modded to a small point without too much hassle.

Anytime glad to have been able to offer some light. You know you should be changing your gear ratio to match the 35"s. Depending on many things this could be from 4.10 to 4.56 something to think about as it's not a cheap endeavor, around $600 in parts and labour.

Sounds like he wants a full shot of your truck.

Exactly. Thanks you fellas. Looks good. So what was the ultimate outcome? I wanna run 20x9 and I'm trying to see if I'll need a lift in the front to alleviate any possibility of rubbing.

It is a 3 inch spacer up front. When these tires run bald I'm swapping for a 2inch and going down to 285s

What size is the wheel and tire combo your running right now. That stance your sitting at is what I'm looking for mine is stock with the front angled towards the ground.

Right now I'm running 305s with a 17 inch wheel. I rub at full lock.
