Hi all, I'm looking to lift my 97 Ram 1500 2wd. I'd like to get the most height I can out of the lift. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any 6" lifts for a 2wd truck, they seem to be more for 4wd. I can't currently help the fact that I don't have a 4wd but I definitely would like to lift it. Any references to a good place I could get such a lift would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

3" body lift is about all you're gonna find.

Are you wanting a 4wd? If you are id save money and get one. IMO, there is nothing more disappointing than a lifted 2wd.

I would like a 4wd, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. Was in a pinch and just recently bought this 2wd. I don't think I would be dissapointed with it, I would be doing it just for the looks anyways.

I also googled doetsch lifts like you suggested, the best I found was a 3" lift on there site. Has anyone used these kits with no problems?

If your in florida or california then go for it. Most people on here that have 2wd's are either lowered or just stock. Reason I say save the money is because as soon as you get that lift installed your gonna wanna to go off road. Which in 2wd=problems.

As soon as you put the lift on your gonna want to build the truck more. Tires, gears etc. Which is all fine and dandy if your certain your not gonna want to wheel it. But the temptation is gonna be stronger than you think.

Trust me. I had a 2wd jeep and it was the worst thing ever. lol
