I have a 96 with a 5" running 35x12.50R20. Front has a Dana 44 and the rear has a Chrysler 9.25. Both axles have the stock 3.53 gears. I am pondering 4.56 gears but I am wondering if I am losing power through the trans. The truck struggles to do 60 Mph and when I get there I loose all vacuum operated systems. Should I go ahead with the gears or get the transmission looked at?

I recently added short tube headers, cut the cat, cold air intake, and throttle body spacer. Stage 1 chip as well.

Re gear to 4.56 or 4.10. As for the vents do a search for wild vents here on rf.

As for the tb spacer take it out and toss it away. Please explain stage one chip.

Have you fixed your plenum yet?
Is the "chip" one of the ebay specials? And yea the spacer will give you just as much a performance increase sitting on your desk as a paperweight.

The chip is stage one jet performance pcm chip. What plenum problem are you referencing?

This. Also look up the plenum fix.

Chips are wastes of cash, you need an actual tuner. TB Spacers, also a good waste of cash. Good paper weight though.

Good tuners are sct with either hemifever or flyin Ryan tunes or superchips. Hypertech tuners, jet chips, and any kind of ebay chip won't work.
